Booking Veterinary Appointments

Putra makes it easy to find veterinary clinics and book appointments for your pets. This guide covers discovering clinics, scheduling visits, and managing your appointments.

Finding Nearby Clinics​

From the Landing Page​

The Putra homepage features a Nearby Clinics section that:

  • Uses your device's location (with permission)
  • Shows clinics in your area
  • Displays basic clinic information
  • Links to full clinic profiles

From Your Dashboard​

  1. Click Book Appointment in the sidebar
  2. View the list of available clinics
  3. Use search or filters to find specific clinics

Viewing Clinic Profiles​

Click on any clinic to see their Public Profile:

Basic Information​

  • Clinic name and logo
  • Address and contact details
  • Operating hours
  • Services offered

Opening Hours​

Clinics display their weekly schedule:

  • Days open
  • Opening and closing times
  • Holiday or special hours

Getting Directions​

From a clinic profile:

  1. Click Get Directions
  2. Opens in your default maps app
  3. Shows route from your location

Contact Options​

  • Call - Direct phone link
  • Email - Send inquiry
  • Visit Website - External clinic site (if available)

Booking an Appointment​

Step 1: Select a Clinic​

From the Book Appointment page:

  1. Browse available clinics
  2. Review clinic profiles
  3. Click Book Appointment on your chosen clinic

Step 2: Choose Your Pet​

  1. Select which pet needs the appointment
  2. Review pet information for accuracy
  3. Only pets registered in your account appear

Step 3: Select Date and Time​

  1. View the clinic's available time slots
  2. Navigate between dates using the calendar
  3. Click on an available slot to select it

  • Green slots: Available
  • Gray slots: Already booked or outside hours
  • Clinics control their own availability :::

Step 4: Provide Visit Reason​

Enter details about the appointment:

Step 5: Confirm Booking​

  1. Review all appointment details
  2. Confirm your contact information
  3. Click Request Appointment

Most appointments are requests that clinics confirm. You'll receive notification when confirmed.

Appointment Statuses​

Your appointments go through several stages:

Managing Appointments​

Viewing Your Appointments​

See all your appointments:

  1. Go to your Dashboard
  2. Check the Upcoming Care section
  3. Or navigate to Book Appointment → My Appointments

Appointment Details​

Click any appointment to view:

  • Date and time
  • Clinic information
  • Pet details
  • Visit reason
  • Current status
  • Any notes from the clinic

Cancelling an Appointment​

To cancel a booked appointment:

  1. Open the appointment details
  2. Click Cancel Appointment
  3. Optionally provide a cancellation reason
  4. Confirm the cancellation

:::warning Cancellation Policy Some clinics may have cancellation policies. Try to cancel at least 24 hours in advance when possible. :::

Rescheduling​

To reschedule an appointment:

  1. Cancel the existing appointment
  2. Book a new appointment with the same clinic
  3. Select your new preferred time

After Your Visit​

Following a completed appointment:

Records Update​

The clinic may add to your pet's records:

  • Examination notes
  • Treatments performed
  • Vaccinations given
  • Prescriptions issued

View Invoice​

If the clinic uses Putra for billing:

  • Invoice appears in your records
  • Payment status tracking
  • Receipt generation

Leave Feedback​

Some clinics accept feedback:

  • Rate your experience
  • Provide comments
  • Help other pet owners

Appointment Reminders​

Putra helps you remember appointments:

Automatic Notifications​

  • Confirmation when appointment is approved
  • Reminder 24 hours before
  • Reminder on the day of the appointment

Calendar Integration​

  1. From appointment details, click Add to Calendar
  2. Download the .ics file
  3. Import to your calendar app

Tips for Booking​

  1. Book ahead - Popular times fill quickly
  2. Be specific - Clear reasons help clinics prepare
  3. Update contact info - Ensure you receive confirmations
  4. Arrive early - Allow time for check-in
  5. Bring records - Share any relevant health history

Emergency Visits​

For emergencies:

  1. Look for clinics marked as Emergency Services
  2. Call the clinic directly before visiting
  3. Use the Triage feature for guidance on urgency
  4. If life-threatening, go directly to the nearest emergency vet

For serious emergencies (difficulty breathing, severe bleeding, poisoning, seizures), seek immediate veterinary care without waiting for an appointment.

Clinic Not on Putra?​

If your preferred clinic isn't on the platform:

  • Contact them and suggest they join Putra
  • Clinics can register at putra.al/register
  • Registering is free for veterinary practices
