Digital Pet Cards
Digital pet cards provide a convenient way to share your pet's essential information. Each card includes a unique QR code that links to your pet's public profile.
What is a Digital Pet Card?
A digital pet card is a shareable, business-card-style document that contains:
- Your pet's photo
- Pet name and basic details (species, breed)
- Your contact information (customizable)
- A unique QR code linking to the public pet profile
- A unique card number

Generating a Digital Card
Step 1: Navigate to Your Pet
- Go to My Pets
- Click on the pet you want to create a card for
- Click the Digital Card button
Step 2: Review Card Information
The card generator shows:
- Pet photo (from your pet's profile)
- Pet name and details
- Your display name
- Contact options
Step 3: Configure Contact Visibility
Choose which contact information to include:

| Email Address | Your account email |

Step 4: Generate the Card
Click Generate Card to create your digital pet card. The system will:
- Create a unique card number
- Generate a QR code
- Prepare the card for viewing and sharing
Using Your Digital Card
Viewing the Card
Once generated, you can view your card at any time:
- Go to My Pets → Select your pet → Digital Card
- The card displays in a business-card format
Downloading the QR Code
To save the QR code image:
- Click Download QR Code
- The QR code image will be downloaded to your device
- You can print this or use it digitally

- Print at 300 DPI or higher for best scan quality
- Keep the QR code at least 2cm × 2cm
- Ensure good contrast (dark code on light background) :::
Sharing the Card
Share your pet's card in multiple ways:
Share Link
Copy the public URL to share via:
- Text message
- Social media
- Messaging apps
Share QR Code
On mobile devices with Web Share support:
- Click Share
- Choose your preferred sharing method
- Send the QR code image directly
Printing the Card
To print a physical card:
- Open the digital card page
- Click Print or use your browser's print function
- The page will format to business-card dimensions
- Print on card stock for durability
Public Pet Profile
When someone scans the QR code, they'll see the Public Pet Profile which includes:
Visible Information
- Pet photo
- Pet name
- Species and breed
- Your display name (as the owner)
- Contact information (based on your visibility settings)
- Card number for verification
Hidden Information
The following is never shown publicly:
- Medical records
- Vaccination details
- Microchip ID
- Allergies or medications
- Private notes
Managing Your Card
Updating Card Information
If you update your pet's profile or your contact information, the public profile updates automatically. The QR code and card number remain the same.
Revoking a Card
To deactivate a digital card:
- Go to your pet's Digital Card page
- Click Revoke Card
- Confirm the action
Revoking a card makes the QR code and public profile link invalid. Anyone who scans the code will see a "Card not found" message.
Regenerating a Card
If you've revoked a card and want a new one:
- Go to your pet's profile
- Click Digital Card
- Click Generate New Card
A new card number and QR code will be created.
Card Number Format
Each card has a unique identifier in the format:
XXXX-XXXX-XXXX
This number can be used to:
- Manually look up a pet at
putra.al/public/cards/XXXX-XXXX-XXXX - Verify card authenticity
- Reference the card in communications
Language Support
The public pet profile automatically displays in the viewer's browser language if supported:
- English, Albanian, Italian, German, French, or Chinese
- Falls back to English for unsupported languages
Best Practices
- Keep photos updated - Use a recent, clear photo of your pet
- Enable contact info - Ensure at least one contact method is visible
- Print a backup - Keep a printed card in case your phone is unavailable
- Check periodically - Scan your own QR code occasionally to verify it works
